Hello offroaders!

Welcome to the latest addition to the Max Air adventure
series! The name of this track is Chopshop Trails 2 which
is a reworked version of my last track, Nightmare's
Chopshop. If you're thinking this is just a reversed
version of Nightmare's Chopshop, you're in for a nice
surprise. This is a new track in and of it's self which
features an all new story, a new treasure hunt feature
never before seen in an evo track, new Easter egg hunt,
Max Air's Chopshop Trails Contest and assorted goodies
not found in Nightmare's Chopshop. This is a full on
offroad assault that will take you on a 9 mile/ 31
checkpoint trail ride over various offroad terrains
which include styles such as baja, ledge crawling,
up and down hill climbs, valley runs, canyon crawls,
obstacle course and trench tromps. Average beginner
lap time 30 minutes.

Please download Max Air's Jeep Wrangler, buckle your
seat belts and enjoy the ride!

Story:

Max Air's Jeep Jamboree

After completing Nightmare's mission, the local
sheriff's dept. raided the chopshop and destroyed
the escape tunnel that lead to the heart of Loco
County. Fortunately, the shop was unoccupied during
the late night raid and nobody was put under custody.

Being that the chopshop is now "out of commission",
Max Air decides he needs to find another way to pay
the bills. Strangely enough, Jeep contacted Max only
days after the raid. Apparently they caught wind of
the infamous Max Air and decided to put his offroad
skills to the test. The letter read as follows:

"Dear Maximum,

We here at Jeep host an offroad event called the Jeep
Jamboree which takes place at specified areas around
the United States on predetermined dates. After hearing
that you're all about huge air and sick climbs, we
decided that you have great potential as an offroad
scout and Jeep Jamboree tour guide.

We need you to first scout out a location, gather area
history and facts, map the trails and then command the
tour when the specified date occurs.

Please respond asap!"

Max thought it over and decided that the Loco county
trails would be an exhilarating offroad experience.
After replying to the letter, Max sets out complete
his task. Max approaches his ride and takes off to
the local museum.

After a long drive, Max pulls up and parks in front
to the museum.Max steps out and walks inside. Upon
entrance, he notices a small book of facts and stories
sitting on a pedestal. After opening the book, one
particular story called "Is Loco County haunted?"
caught Max' eye. He begins to read:

"Is Loco county Haunted?

There have been many reported sightings of ghosts in
the area for many years now. Two areas imparticular
have had the most reported sightings, the Watutu
village cemetery and the Loco County lookout tower.

The Watutu Village cemetery has been around since the
early 1800's. It been recorded that a few convicted
murderers have been buried there and may be the cause
of the ghost sightings.

The Loco county lookout tower was completed on August
10th 1845. A man named Ben "scooter" Hughes was
employed to operate and maintain the tower spotlight
and as time passed, Ben became fond of his home away
from home as his family complained that Ben was always
absent due to spending all of his time at the tower.
One day in 1890 while replacing a faulty board,
Ben fell 400 feet to his death. There have been many
reports of a distinct cigar smell Ben was known for
along with shadows moving near the tower office at
night. "

Max looks down further and notices a small map that
shows the location of Watutu Village. The map also
marks the cemetery, Watutu Hotel and the bank.
Below the map is a caption stating that Watutu
Village had been around since the 1800's when the
bank was originally built. Then in 1830, the Watutu
Hotel was constructed and then renovated in 1950.
Deciding that he has enough information, Max Air heads
off to map the trails.

While marking the Jamboree trails, Max decides to
update his address book after passing an unrecognizable
 structure.

"1. KC- shack 1 king of the hill
2. Saleen- shack 2 up and over
3. Dr. X- shack 3 trails of treasure
4. [RCG]Balthazar- shack 4 jump jump
5. Kid#2- shack 5 up tha ridge
6. Max Air- shack 6 down and around"

After Max finished marking the addresses, he saw
[RCG]Balthazar cruising towards the old chopshop.
Max takes off after him and eventually catches up a
few yards from the chopshop. Max asks Balthazar "what
are you doing?" Balthazar replies "I'm rebuilding
this abandoned chopshop as a drag strip gambling
parlor so that I can make some quick cash!" Max shakes
his head as he thinks about all the illegal operations
the chopshop has seen in it's days. Max decides that
it's better to stay away this time as the chopshop
bust was a little to close for comfort.

After Max finished mapping the trails, he headed back
to his shack and notified Jeep of the job completion.

July 15th 2003.

It's the day of Max Air's Jeep Jamboree. Max gathers
his gear and heads out to the trails to get ready for
the group meeting. Once he arrives, he notices a
small group of individuals standing around talking
about their Jeeps. Max walks up and greets everybody
saying "Hello, my name is Max Air and I'll be your
tour guide." "If you have any questions, please ask
me now." (nobody raises hand) "Ok since there are
no questions, lets pack up our gear and head on out."

Easter Eggs and Treasure Hunt Feature:

Treasure and The Six Shacks Of Loco County-Located
in the special areas of Loco County are The Six Shacks
Of Loco County. The shacks have been appropriately
numbered 1 through 6 with checkpoint identifiers.
The shacks are not located "out in the boondocks"
but where strategically placed in special areas via
multiple branching paths. When bumped by your
vehicle, one shack will play a treasure hunt
identifier sound effect (howling coyotes) which will
notify that the treasure is in that specific area.
I highly recommend doing your treasure hunt with
music off or at a low level. I have also included a
lighting system for nighttime driving to help
identify and locate the shacks. You must explore
the surrounding area to discover the treasure location.

Gnarly Air-Try and identify the 3 Gnarly Air jumps
located throughout the area. These 3 jumps are
unmarked and gurarantee maximum air! Do not
confuse the gnarly air's for jumpers lane!

Loco County Sherifs Office:- Try and find the Loco
County Sherifs Office located in the local Loco
County area. Find the 2 "Loco County Sherifs Office
Trails" for maximum enjoyment!

Historical Museum:- Finding the Historical Museum
is a bit tough but a very rewading offroad experience!

Shortcuts:Try and find the 3 major shortcuts.

Drag Race and Operation: The chopshop escape
tunnel has been reconstructed as a drag race
gambling parlor. The drag strip has been set up
with a start gate, lane divider to prevent collisions
and a judges ledge for photo-finish snapshots.

Operation-One person is nominated the judge and
drives to the end of the dragstrip where the lift
will pick him up and he will park on the judges
ledge. Then the judge changes the camera angle by
pressing the 0 & . or + & - on the right hand
numeral pad till he gets an overhead view of
the finish line. The judge then calls ready and
the drag starts at the next opening gate. When
the race nears the finish, the judge can take
an overhead photo-finish snapshot to reveal the
winner.

4x4 Evolution Trail Navagation Tips:

Tip 1-Make sure and watch the ground seams while
navagating tight areas or ledges. Ground seams
are a result of the spline used in the Evo game
engine. The "spline beast" is part of what makes
trail riding so realistic. The "spline beast"
causes strange shaped seams which actually make you
feel like you need to climb to get a foothold
on the terrain. In some instances, only one seam
will allow you passage while others will leave
you stranded or off the trail all together.

Tip 2-While changing seams in tight areas, make
sure and come to a complete stop so that your
suspension will have time to shift to the new position. If you coast while trying to shift ground seams, the seam might grab you and throw you in an undesired position.

Tip 3- Remember that practice makes perfect! To
get better lap times, learn the routes and seams
that get you through the quickest. I've found that
during beta testing, learning the seams is very
important and may take many runs before you get
the hang of it. I've had a blast beta testing
and have played through many times but still
find myself hitting a path wrong from time to
time leaving me wanting to destroy my controller.
Frusterating?...yes Rewarding once you've beaten
the fastest lap? ...very much so

Tip 4- Sometimes going slow is faster than going
fast and missing a seam transition. I've watched
people try to navigate tight trails with the "pedal
to the metal" and they just ended up getting stuck
9 times out of 10.

Tip 5- Respect fellow offroaders while driving
online! If you and another person are stuck in
the same area and need to use the rescue button,
let the other pass before you reset at the last
checkpoint. Tight areas are messy if everybody piles
up on each other while the vehicle collision setting
is on. In that case, everybody looses.

Tip 6- If you're having trouble rockclimbing,
hit the edge of the rock at an angle. If you're
still having trouble, make sure you get a running
start at the rock edge. There also might be more
than one way over the rocks.

Tip 7- use manual transmission for the best lap
times. Take advantage of 2nd gear because it's
the best all around gear for ledges and hill climbs.

Game Setup:

It is highly recommended that you treasure hunt on
the night setting and race during the midday
setting. The lights I have setup will help you
identify the Six Shacks of Loco County during the
night setting. It is also recommended that you
turn off music while treasure hunting to let you
hear the treasure identifier and other nifty sound
effects.

Sometimes you'll get a bad camera view and may
need to switch to a cockpit view. You may also
need to tilt the cmera up when descending difficult
hills.

Check your vehicle settings before you run the
track. If you are using a career vehicle, I suggest
using an axel setting of 0 and setting suspension
to firm for rock climbs!

Extra Notes:

The in game map is quite crude and obtrusive during
game play. I was limited on my map points so had to
make due with straigt curves and sharp corners.
Once you have learned the course, I recommend
hitting the tab button to remove the map from
the game screen.

Extra Fun:

Drag strip catapult- drive to the end of the
drag strip and ride the elevator all the way up
for nice air.

Collapsable bridge- "Jack be nimble Jack be quick!"
Try and cross the bridge before it collapses. Make
sure and get enough speed or else you'll take a tumble!

Strange Replays- Run a hot lap in single player
then watch the replay afterwards. You'll see you
chopshoptrails lap being run on the Arizona track.
Watch as you hill climb in mid air over the terrain.
